Japan Airlines Chosen as Tokyo 2020 Official Airline Partner
Japan Airlines (JAL) announced that the company has signed a Tokyo 2020 Official Partner (passenger air transport services category) agreement today with the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. With this agreement, JAL will become an official partner of both the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games and a proud sponsor of Japan’s national Olympic and Paralympic teams which will take part in Olympic and Paralympic Games-related competitions from 2016 to 2020.
As a Tokyo 2020 Official Partner, JAL will actively participate as a member of the ‘All Japan’ team supporting the efforts of Japan’s national Olympic and Paralympic teams and the successful delivery of the 2020 Games.
JAL was honored to be selected to transport the Olympic Torch from Athens to Japan for the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games. In 1998, the company became an Official Partner of the Japan Olympic Committee, and in 2005 concluded an Official Partner agreement with the Japanese Paralympic Committee. JAL supports Japan’s Olympic and Paralympic teams by providing them with safe and comfortable air transport services, as well as conducting various programmes aimed at promoting sport. By signing the partner agreement, we will leverage the experience and expertise we have accumulated over the years to transport Japan’s national teams and delegations. We will also further expand our activities to support the advancement of sport and foster young athletes.
